What I am looking to do is simple, and very specific. I enjoy tending flower gardens. I have so many species of plants in my own garden, I have lost count. I watch every day when I am driving, for other "Old fashion" gardens like my own. I frequently see beautiful gardens overgrown and struggling due to neglect.
They didn't start out that way. Sometimes the gardener who tended them for so long grew older and tired. I know it will happen to me soon enough. ...Well combine my love of gardening with my families desire for food and shelter, and there is a vocation worth pursuing.
I am the mother of six children, married to a wonderful man, who on seasonal clean-ups is frequently my assistant. Until six years ago I worked for a decade running a full scale landscaping business where I did all kinds of work include: retaining work, water fall construction, installation and design... you name it.
I just want to work on gardens. Small or large, it doesn't matter as long as the focus is on the care of plants: bulb division, heavy or fine weeding, plant feeding, soil and mulching, light pruning.
The good news is, since this is strictly part time, that my hourly rate reflects my low key nature.
We currently schedule for three days a week.
